We are dedicated to upholding a warehouse and a business that not only meets but exceeds the Food Safety guidelines and standards of our industry, driving positive change and advancement in Food Safety programs and FSMA guidelines across all aspects of our operations.

Nogales produce prioritizes food safety with a dedicated on-site coordinator who drives our commitment to excellence, who, in conjuction partners with the Food Safety Committee to develop, implement and enforce comprehensive Food Safety regulations, policies, and procedures across the warehouse. Our Food Safety Coordinator oversees programs including HACCP, GFSI regulaory audits, food safety training programs, standard operating procedures (SOP's) and product inspections, empowering us to achieve greatness.

3rd Party Food Safety Certification

Nogales Produce is a participant in the PrimusGFS, Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), a renowned audit scheme recognized globally. The vision of GFSI, "Safe Food for Consumers, Everywhere," resonates with our guiding principle, "Quality Produce Dependable Service.

"Our company's commitment to upholding the integrity of our facility, produce, and business operations motivates us to guarantee the health and safety of the fruits and vegetables we source and distribute.

Our third-party certification process is facilitated by Primus Auditing Ops, which operates under a straightfoward mission: Observe. Report. Primus Auditing Ops assists businesses across various industries, including agriculture, processing, distribution centers, restaurants, and retail, in navigating the complexities of food safety and regulatory complience.

Our PrimusGFS audit consist of the following three modules:

  • Food Safety Management System (FSMS)
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
  • Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
Our Core Food Safety Principles
  • Module 1- Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS):
  • Our Nogales Produce Food Safety Coordinator, who holds a HACCP Certification, has enabled our company to establish a food safety committee, food safety policy and program.

  • Module 5- Good Manufactoring Practices (GMPs):

    Our extensive Food Safey Program encompasses, Good Manufacturing Practices for our facility and employees, including: Employee Training, Facility Sanitation Standards, Environmental Monitoring and Microbiological Testing Program. We conduct systematic testing of our production space and equipment for E. Coli, Listeria and Salmonella.

  • Module 6- Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP's):
  • We adhere to the seven HACCP principles to ensure safe handling of our products throughout the supply chain and mitigate physical, chemical or biological risks that could harm consumers.

    As required by FSMA, our Food Safety coodinator is HACCP Certified and undergoes ongoing training and re-certification every five years.

    Traceability

    A cornerstone of Food Safety Management Traceability is a fundamental component in any Food Safety management Program.

    Nogales Produce relies on our ERP System, Sage, to maintain comprehensive electronic records. Our meticulous record keeping enables us to track products throughout the supply chain, from origin to end user. This comprehensive data allows us to trace produce that enters and leaves our facility down to the lot number.

    Effective traceability enables immediate recall capabilities. In the event of a potential hazardousb threat, we can quickly track, quarantine, and recover any product in questions.

    To ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of our Traceability Program, we conduct bi-annual mock recalls to test our handling of potential Food Safety Risks.
